.. on the bottom of the sea.

The concept is basically that the bottle with all the souls would've gotten lost (by being dropped etc). On the bottom of the water, the souls are now forever trapped.

(Inside the bottle there is butterfly decoration candy, which is supposed to symbolize the souls. The bokehs are created from white starts attached to the outside of the cointainer. The bottle is sunk down into decoration sand of a mix of natural sand colors. Background color is just a colored paper. There are 2 external lights, one on each side of the container, as well as one in the roof. Fluid used in the container is a mix of sprite and a bit of normal water.)

I wasn't satisfied with previous shot, so today I redid this concept.

Any critique or general comments on how to improve are always very welcome :)

First things first, the photo itself is rather beautiful, and really works well to symbolize what you described. I think the fact that there are more than one colour of stars gives a good implication that there are more than one type of souls in this world.

I have seen a few pictures denoting souls contained inside capsules or containers, but none which depict the canister at the bottom of an expanse of water, making this a very original and inspired piece.

The bubbles encapsulating the corked bottle give the sense of a marine environment an extra boost, making it easier to tell that this is where the subject is. The neat little bow also makes the bottle even more interesting. Whatever the bottle is slightly sunk in to is very good at giving the impression of sand, adding yet more detail to the water in which it lies.

The impact is very good as the title makes one think about the entire subject as a whole, and your description is not necessarily needed to understand the ideas behind the piece. Focus on the bottle and the blurred background also immediately attract the eye to the subject, adding more impact to your piece.

Overall, a very good photograph, I look forward to seeing more!
